Drunk miner stabbed, beheaded after asking for another drink

A 37-year-old miner was stabbed and beheaded by a co-worker in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur on Saturday night after he reportedly visited the alleged suspect’s house while already intoxicated and asked him for another drink. Julieto Quiñones, a resident of Purok 3, Barangay Alegria, was allegedly stabbed by Kith Negranza, 26, at around ten in the evening of May 29, the Philippine National Police (PNP) office in CARAGA said in a statement. A heated argument ensued after the victim dropped by the place of Negranza, a fellow miner and resident of the area, elements of the San Francisco police station said. The victim was later stabbed twice on his stomach and later beheaded, said the statement, which was prepared by Police Officer 3 Philip Amer Posas Mazo. The victim’s head was found placed on top of his body, the statement said. Recovered from the crime scene was a double edged knife, authorities said. Negranza later voluntarily surrendered to Alegria Barangay Captain Solomon Talaugon. He is temporarily detained at the San Francisco municipal police station. A personal grudge was identified as motive of the killing, police said. - RJAB Jr., GMANews.TV
