RP share prices slip in moderate trading

Share prices on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) slipped in moderate trading Tuesday, hounded by the absence of market-moving news as US markets overnight were closed for a holiday. The PSE main index dipped by 6.11 points, or 0.18 percent, to close at 3,266.62. There was nothing much that cued the market, with Wall Street closed for Memorial Day, said Jasper Jimenez, a trader with BDO Securities Inc. Asian markets were also down Tuesday and European markets were mixed overnight. More than 2.51 billion shares, valued at P2.76 billion, changed hands in 6,936 transactions on the PSE. Losers led gainers 49 to 47, while 65 issues closed unchanged from Monday’s levels. —VS, GMANews.TV
