Remains of Malacañang aide arrive from China


The remains of a Palace official who died while conducting an ocular inspection last weekend arrived in Manila Wednesday afternoon. Radio dzBB reported early Thursday the remains of Media Accreditation and Relations Division (MARD) head Henry Reveche arrived on a Singapore Airlines’ flight. According to the report, the flight bearing Reveche's remains arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 1:17 p.m. From the NAIA, Reveche's remains were brought to the Arlington Funeral Homes in Quezon City. His family said he will be buried at the Holy Cross Memorial Park in Quezon City this Sunday. Reveche was on an official mission to Shanghai. He was conducting an ocular inspection of the Philippine Pavilion at the 2010 World Expo site, when he suffered a heart attack. Outgoing President and incoming Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was scheduled to formally open the pavilion on June 8. A release from the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) said Reveche had been in government service for 37 years, mostly spent with government communication entities. He started his government media career in 1973 as a public relations assistant and junior media strategist with then the National Media Production Center (NMPC), now Philippine Information Agency. He rose to become PIA Senior Development Information Officer and a later as Special and Technical Assistant at the OPS in Malacañang. He took over MARD in 1998. Reveche completed a BA Philosophy course at the Mount Carmel Seminary and BA in Sacred Theology at the University of Sto. Tomas. He earned a Master's degree in National Security Administration (MNSA) at the National Defense College of the Philippines (Regular Class 36-2000 to 2001) with which he was inducted as Reserved Officer in the Armed Forces of the Philippines with the rank of Commander in the Philippine Navy.
