2 fire volunteers saved from suffocation in predawn Valenzuela fire

Two fire volunteers were saved from suffocation as they battled a predawn fire that hit a vinyl firm’s warehouse in Valenzuela City Friday. Radio dzBB’s Mao dela Cruz reported the two fire fighters who received treatment for suffocation were initially identified as Robert Remilla and Ben Diocaray. It added that the fire at San Rafael village started at 3:30 a.m. and was declared “confined" at about 4:10 a.m. Initial investigation showed the two inhaled toxic fumes from burning PVC pipes in the warehouse. No one else was reported hurt, even as arson investigators are still determining what caused the fire. — LBG, GMANews.TV
