Report: Some PCOS machines found in Antipolo have no CF cards

Some automated voting machines that were found last May 13 in a residence in Antipolo City did not have their corresponding compact flash cards, a GMA News Flash Report said. These precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines — which have been brought to the Senate for safekeeping — only had back-up cards, the same report said. The report did not disclose the number of machines that had no compact flash cards, which are needed to store and transmit election results. On Friday, information technology experts of the Senate and the House of Representatives conducted forensic analysis on the first batch of six PCOS machines currently under the Senate’s custody.

These six machines form part of the 60 PCOS machines brought to the chamber after it was discovered that these were stored in the residence of a Smartmatic technician. Smartmatic is the supplier of the PCOS machines. The machines will soon be opened, allowing experts to check if the components of these equipment are complete, the report said. No member of the media was allowed during the forensic analysis process, the report added. Those who chose to observe the process were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement, the report said, quoting Smartmatic. — RJAB Jr./RSJ/LBG, GMANews.TV
