Arrest warrant issued vs Geisler; Yamien Kurdi camp offers reward

The camp of actress Yasmien Kurdi on Friday said it was willing to grant a “substantial reward" to any law enforcer or private citizen who would "effect the arrest" of actor Baron Geisler, whom Kurdi charged with acts of lasciviousness and unjust vexation. The Municipal Trial Court (MTC) of Bocaue, Bulacan issued an arrest warrant for Geisler last April 28 because “accused (Geisler) was not present in court for the second time." The bench warrant was issued because “nobody wanted to receive the subpoena at the ABS-CBN Talent Center as Baron Geisler was no longer a talent of their studio," Kurdi's lawyer Ferdinand Topacio said, citing Judge Lauro G. Bernardo. Topacio said the arrest order was released on May 5 but they were only informed of it on June 2. Topacio appealed to police personnel and concerned citizens to provide information that would result in Geisler's apprehension. “We cannot let Mr. Geisler escape trial and possible punishment by the simple expedient of making himself disappear in order to evade court hearings," he said. The exact amount of the reward will be discussed with Kurdi once she returns from her trip abroad, Topacio said. But he assured that the reward would be “meaningful and substantial." "Hindi naman naming titipirin ang makakatulong sa amin (We will be generous to whoever will help us)," said the lawyer. Kurdi filed the cases against Geisler after he allegedly made “lewd gestures" and “indecent proposals" to her during the taping of the television series “Suspetsa" last May 2009 in Bocaue. GMANews.TV tried to get the side of Geisler through his lawyer Bonifacio Alentajan, but his office said he was "out of the office" and can only be reached Saturday morning. - RJAB Jr., GMANews.TV
