Ayala Avenue in Makati to be closed to traffic June 10


Ayala Avenue in Makati City will be closed to traffic from June 10 to 11 for the grand parade highlighting the city's 340th foundation anniversary. In an advisory on the city's website, the city's Department of Public Safety (DPS) said several roads will be closed from noon of June 10, Thursday. To be closed starting noon of June 10 for the construction of the grand parade stage are both lanes of Ayala Avenue from Makati Avenue up to Herrera Street – both lanes of Paseo de Roxas from Sedeño St. to Dela Rosa St., and Rufino Street from Valero to Dela Rosa Street. DPS will close from noon to 4 p.m. of June 11 Malugay Street from Pasong Tamo to Ayala Ave. and from Ayala Ave. to Gil Puyat Ave.; and Ayala Avenue from Gil Puyat Ave. to Metropolitan Ave. and from Kamagong to Gil Puyat Ave. All passenger buses from EDSA are advised to turn right to Gil Puyat Ave. toward destination. Buses coming from the South Luzon Expressway, Buendia and Pasay City are advised to take Gil Puyat Ave. and to turn left at EDSA towards their destination. Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) and light vehicles from J.P. Rizal are advised to turn right to Makati. Ave., right to Paseo de Roxas, right to Villar St., left to E.P. Leviste St., left to V.A. Rufino St. and right to Ayala Ave. toward their destination. Those coming from Washington St. may turn right to Gil Puyat Ave., right to Ayala Ave., right to Salcedo St., left to Benavidez toward Esperanza St., right to Makati Ave., right to Arnaiz Ave., right to Paseo de Roxas, left to Dela Rosa St., right to Salcedo St. and left to Ayala Ave. toward their destination. DPS Director Hermenegildo San Miguel said additional DPS enforcers will be deployed to assist in maintaining smooth traffic.
