Police to post photos of criminals outside schools

Metro Manila police will post photos of suspected criminals outside schools, a move that will help students become more aware of muggers. The move complements the police’s strategy to have students bring whistles to call authorities’ attention to crimes, Metro Manila Police Chief Director Roberto Rosales said in a report on dzXL radio on Monday. The five districts under his command will also place the posters outside schools to alert students against snatchers and robbers, Rosales said. Police will also post mug shots of suspected drug pushers outside the schools, the report said. On the other hand, Rosales reiterated his advice to parents to disallow children from bringing expensive cell phones or wear jewelry to school. The Metro Manila police will also hold meetings with school administrators this week to make final preparations for the opening of the school year on June 15. — RJAB Jr./RSJ, GMANews.TV
