Noynoy leaves wedding plans to Madame Auring

Only the stars can tell when President-elect Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III will be married. At a press conference shortly after Congress proclaimed him president on Wednesday, Aquino once again parried questions on his possible marriage plans. "Kakausapin ko po si Madame Auring kung mayroong prediksyon. Yun po ang kaisa-isang tanong na hindi ko masagot (I will ask Madame Auring if she has a prediction. That is the only question I cannot answer)," Aquino said.

Madame Auring used to be a popular fortune teller in the Philippines. During the months of his campaign, Aquino has long evaded questions on whether he would wed girlfriend Shalani Soledad, a councilor in Valenzuela City. Meanwhile, Soledad declined to answer reporters' questions on a possible marriage proposal from the newly-elected President. "Sa amin na lang iyon (We're keeping it to ourselves)," a smiling Soledad said during an interview at the Batasan Pambansa in Quezon City. Aquino and Soledad's relationship had been put under the spotlight since the former announced his presidential bid in September 2009. Last month, Soledad said she is in no hurry to get married. "At this point, napakalaki nung task na haharapin ni Noy, so ang focus should be on the task ahead of him (Noy faces a huge task, so the focus should be on that)."
