Korean YouTube star to release first album

South Korean YouTube singing sensation Kim Yeo-Hee, a.k.a. applegirl002, is set to release her first official album under a major record label later this month. The 22-year-old joined YouTube just three months ago in March, but quickly drew a large following not only because of her cute performing style but also for her deft use of iPhone music apps. Below is her first uploaded YouTube video -with over 1.5 million views to date- in which she sings Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" while simultaneusly re-mixing music on a set of three iPhones strapped to a bar in front of her: "I have many songwriter friends, who introduced me to various music applications. Since I bought my iPhone, I kept playing with it and experimenting with different apps and got totally hooked," she told the Wall Street Journal in an interview. In the wake of her viral success, Kim signed a deal with Seoul-based record producer Dreamhigh-Ent in April and has since been recording her own material. Her first album, Hajima (Don't Fall in Love), is set to hit the iTunes store on May 27. - GMANews.TV
