DOTC opens hotline 7890 for opening of classes on Tuesday

Expecting the influx of motorists and commuters when all public schools and other private institutions resume classes on Tuesday, the Department of Transportation and Communications on Monday announced it has opened an action center. In an interview on GMA's Unang Hirit, DOTC Undersecretary Thompson Lantion said the public can reach the department's action center through its hotline, 7890. "Ang DOTC ay handa na sa pagbabalik ng mag-aaral sa buong kapuluan. Naatasan na ang management council na tulungan ang mga mag-aaral sa buong kapuluan (The DOTC is ready for the return of students across the archipelago. The management council has been tasked to assist the students across the nation)," Lantion said.

The department would also distribute complaint sheets so that commuters can report the following violations by drivers or operators of jeepneys, buses, and taxis:
  • Fast meters in taxis
  • Overcharging
  • Refusal to admit passengers
  • Arrogant drivers and conductors
  • Driving without franchise
  • Cutting trips
  • Smoke belching
