Meralco: Brownouts scheduled in Quezon City

While there are no rotating brownouts scheduled for the day, residents in some parts of Quezon City may have to brace for power interruptions Tuesday, the Manila Electric Co. said. Meralco’s Tina Feliciano said the power interruptions are due mainly to the replacement of power facilities, including electric posts. "Manipis ang reserba pero di tayo nag-schedule ng rotational brownouts. Hindi pa full capacity ang generation plants (We will not have rotating brownouts but our power reserves are quite low. Our power generation plants are not back to full capacity)," Feliciano said in an interview on dzBB radio. Feliciano said brownouts from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. are expected to hit Sauyo village, including the National Irrigation Authority area; and in Tandang Sora and Pasong Tamo villages. Brownouts between 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday are also expected along P. Tuazon Boulevard from 20th Avenue to J.P. Rizal in Barangay Tagumpay, she said. — LBG/RSJ, GMANews.TV
