Pacifica to bid for Naga's power capacity

Romero-owned Pacifica Inc. will bid for the Naga power complex's contracted capacity, the company said Tuesday in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE). It has submitted a letter of interest with the Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp. to join the Aug. 8 bidding as "an independent power-producer administrator," Pacifica said. "This is another initiative of the company in line with its firm intention to expand business opportunities into power related activities." The Naga complex in Naga, Cebu consists of three power-producing facilities with a combined capacity of 149 megawatts. PSALM, the government agency that manages the privatization of state power assets and the liabilities of the National Power Corp., will hold the Naga pre-bid conference on June 25 to discuss with interested companies the details of the bidding. —VS, GMANews.TV
