Police identify possible suspect in radio commentator's murder

Citing an eyewitness account, police on Thursday identified the possible assailant of radio commentator Jovelito Agustin, who was gunned down last Tuesday evening in Ilocos Norte. Senior Superintendent Benito Estipona, department director of the police's Task Force Usig, said Agustin's companion identified a certain Leonardo Banaag, a resident of Bacarra town, as the gunman. Banaag may face charges of murder for Agustin's shooting, and frustrated murder for the attempted killing of two others. Manhunt operations are ongoing, while the motive for Agustin's killing is still being determined, Estipona said. Agustin, 37, a commentator for dzJC Aksyon Radyo-Laoag, was shot on his way home to Bacarra town, Ilocos Norte, on Tuesday night. He died in a hospital at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday. - Sophia Regina M.
