Ship with 352 passengers runs aground off Cebu


Several passengers of a cargo vessel were rescued after their ship ran aground off Cebu province before dawn Saturday. Cebu Coast Guard chief of staff Commander Anelito Gabisan said the MV Pilipinas Ozamiz was heading for Cebu from Ozamiz City when the incident occurred. "As of 8 a.m. meron na tayong pasahero na na-transfer, na-account natin 248 (As of 8 a.m. we have accounted for 248 of the passengers as we transferred them to our search-and-rescue vessel)," Gabisan said in an interview on dzBB radio.
