Thousands flee floods in Maguindanao, Cotabato


About 4,500 families fled their homes as floods swamped several areas in Maguindanao and North Cotabato provinces due to heavy rains during the weekend. Maguindanao Governor-elect Esmael Mangudadatu and Vice President-elect Jejomar Binay extended assistance to the affected families, radio dzXL reported on Monday. Water levels rose in 10 villages in Sultan Kudarat town, including Bulalo, Limbo, Salimbao, Gang, Kalsada, Katuli, Banubo, Bulaog Sinditanm and Macaguiling. In North Cotabato, four villages were swamped in floods: Kapayuran, Tubon, Bulukawon, and Kabpangi.
