Robinsons Land to build 30th mall

Gokongwei-led Robinsons Land Corp. is set to build its 30th shopping mall in the country in Pangasinan province, the company said in a statement. The latest project is the company’s first mall in the province, in Calasiao town between the capital, Dagupan City, and San Carlos City. Robinsons Land will build the property on a 5.8-hectare land, with a gross floor area of 31,900 square meters, and a gross leasable area of 23,000 square meters. This would bring the gross floor area of all 30 Robinsons malls to 1.5 million square meters. In 2011, the company will pursue mall developments in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, as well as in Cebu and in Magnolia, Quezon City. In its fiscal first half ending March 31, Robinsons Land reported that net income rose 10 percent to P1.79 billion as real estate and hotel revenues went up by 7 percent to P5.3 billion from P4.9 billion a year earlier. Commercial centers accounted for 50 percent or P2.8 billion of gross revenues, which grew by 38 percent in the comparable period. —VS, GMANews.TV
