Artist sketch of Cagayan police officer’s gunman released

Local police investigators have released the artist sketch of the man who allegedly shot and killed a police officer in Cagayan last week. On Thursday, Senior Superintendent Mao Aplasca of the Cagayan provincial police said that based on descriptions by witnesses, the cartographic sketch of the gunman who killed Chief Inspector Hector Balinuyus is believed to be between 32 to 35 years old and is 5’6" to 5’7" in height. Witnesses who saw the actual shooting also described the gunman as "fairly complexioned, long haired, medium-built and about 70 to 75 kilograms in weight," Aplasca said. The gunwan wore a gray shirt, six-pocket brown shorts and slippers during the shooting, he added. Aplasca likewise said that Balinuyus’ killing was a "direct attack" on the police officer. Balinuyus was shot on Wednesday last week in front of an auto supply shop in Tuguegarao City. He died while being treated in the hospital. A task force formed to probe the killing will continue running after the gunman and the mastermind of the shooting incident with the help of the cartographic sketch, Aplasca said. — with Andreo Calonzo/RSJ, GMANews.TV
