After 9 years in govt, PMS chief wants rest for coming twins

Once her final job is over, the head of the President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo administration’s transition team is looking forward to much-needed rest after nine years of serving in government, as she is expecting twins in December. Presidential Management Staff (PMS) head Elena Bautista-Horn said she plans to be with her husband in the province and start the "next phase" in her life. "Uuwi muna ako at nadadalang tao ako. Napapanahon din magpahinga after nine consecutive years of service in government. Expected ito sa December, I have twins in my tummy (I will go home to my husband's province. It is fitting that I rest after nine consecutive years of service in government. I am expecting twins in December)," Bautista-Horn said in an interview on dzXL radio. "Ako magreretiro sa June 30, sa July 1 I will be Citizen Horn (I will retire on June 30. By July 1 I will be Citizen Horn)," she said in a separate interview on dwIZ radio. She added her doctor had advised her to take it easy because multiple pregnancies may result in the child coming out prematurely. Bautista-Horn served nine years under the Arroyo government, mostly under the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC). "I'm really looking forward to the next phase in my life," she said. "Buntis na po ako, magpapahinga ako muna medyo bumibigat na ang aking tiyan (I'm pregnant and I want to rest because my belly is getting heavy)," she added. For the past several weeks, Bautista-Horn had headed the Arroyo government's transition team but has so far had "informal" talks with representatives of the camp of President-elect Benigno Simeon "Noynoy" Aquino III. — LBG, GMANews.TV
