PAGASA keeps track of low pressure area over Visayas

State weather forecasters are keeping track of a low-pressure area over the Visayas, which may bring rains to Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was estimated at 910 km east of Visayas as of 2 p.m. In its 5 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the LPA was embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. "Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening," it said. Light to moderate winds coming from the East to Southeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the East to Northeast over Visayas and Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.—JV, GMANews.TV
