Predawn fire hits Cavite — report

Several families were rendered homeless Monday after a predawn fire of still undetermined origin razed at least six houses in Bacoor town in Cavite province. Radio dzRH said no one was initially reported hurt in the fire, which started shortly before 4 a.m. and was placed under control before 5 a.m. Many residents also helped firefighters put out the fire. On the other hand, traffic in the coastal and Evanglista areas in Bacoor was snarled as several families rushed to save their belongings during the blaze.
