Kings dump Brown, parade 4th import in Daniels
Barangay Ginebra finally got rid of an import whoâs more of a liability than providing stability to the teamâs promising lineup. The Gin Kings decided to bring in its fourth import this conference âChris Daniels â and replace the ineffective Denham Brown. Ginebra coach Jong Uichico confirmed the news to GMANews.TV. âHe just arrived and he looks alright in practice, but weâre hoping to see more," said Uichico in a text message. Listed 6-foot-7 while playing in Poland, Daniels is expected to show his true worth in the Gin Kingsâ playoff match against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters for the last quarterfinals seat. The Gin Kings weren't able to get the best out of their three previous reinforcements â Awvee Storey, Mildon Ambres and Brown. Daniels will need to perform according to credentials. He was considered as the most efficient player in the Polish League during the 2007 season. Scouts consider him as a player with great understanding of the game, a great rebounder and has the ability to defend. But Daniels face a big test in his debut game in the PBA when he meets former Barangay Ginebra import Rod Nealy, who is now strutting his wares for the Elasto Painters. Nealy has been producing big numbers for the Elasto Paintersâ last two wins where he averaged 33.5 points and 16.5 rebounds. - Rey Joble, GMANews.TV
