Alleged witch, husband stabbed to death in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO CITY - A suspected witch and her spouse were killed after being stabbed by an angry man in Cagayan province at 10 in the evening of June 28. Police senior superintendent Mao Aplasca, Cagayan provincial police director said Florentina Secretario, 63, and her husband, Inocencio Secretario, 72, died on the spot after being stabbed with a fan knife at their chests by the suspect. The suspect, a certain Jerry Tapuro, allegedly sneaked inside the victims’ nipa house and repeatedly stabbed the couple who were sleeping. The weapon was found on the scene. Tapuro suspected that Florentina, who was accused as a witch, used her powers to bring illness to the suspect’s mother, according to SPO4 Pepito Juan, Aparri police chief investigator.
