2 firefighters survive electrocution while putting out Cotabato fire


At least two firefighters survived electrocution while battling a predawn fire that damaged a school and razed several stalls in Cotabato City on Thursday. The fire that started at 3:30 a.m. damaged the school and destroyed the stalls, according to a report on dzXL radio. The electrocuted firefighters, who were not immediately named, were brought to a nearby hospital and were recovering as of posting time. City fire marshal Chief Inspector Adam Guiamad said the fire destroyed stalls selling fruits, cell phone accessories, and food items. The fire also spread to a building of the nearby Cotabato City Central Pilot Elementary School.
