PEP: Claudine Barretto reveals secret of her weight loss

As soon as Claudine Barretto entered Annabel's restaurant in Quezon City earlier Saturday, July 3, it was evident that she had shed some weight since she met the press a few months back. "Hindi ko tinitingnan kung ilang pounds ang na-lose ko, pero ngayon ang size ko naglalaro sa size zero at two," revealed Claudine during the press conference of her movie In Your Eyes. Co-produced by GMA Films and Viva Films, this romantic drama also stars Anne Curtis and Richard Gutierrez under the direction of Mac Alejandre. Partly shot in Los Angeles, California, Claudine and Anne portray sisters who fall in love with the same man. "Pesco-vegetarian na uli ako," said Clau. "Dati kasi noong nagbuntis ako, sinabi sa akin na kailangan kong kumain ng meat and beef and pork. 'Pag Saturdays and Sundays, puwede akong mag-chicken pero the rest of the week, seafood lang talaga. Binalik ko lang yung dati kong lifestyle of six years na pesco-vegetarianism. At kahit sa set, nag-Pilates ako." She added: "Kaya ako naging pesco-vegetarian before kasi mahilig talaga ako sa canned goods, sa mga instant noodles... lahat may mga preservatives na nakakamaga. After Iisa Pa Lamang [her previous teleserye at ABS-CBN], I was waiting and waiting kung kailan kami mag-i-start and then I started eating pork." According to www.medicineonline.com, pesco-vegetarianism is a diet that excludes all meat except fish and allows dairy foods and eggs. LOVE SCENE ON LAST TAPING DAY. Claudine has yet to shoot her love scene this Sunday with her leading man because they decided to postpone the taping earlier this week. The actress admitted that she feels more nervous this time compared to other love scenes she has shot in the past. "Mas ninenerbiyos ako kasi nakikita ko na ninenerbiyos si Chard at this is after my movies in Seiko at Star Cinema. Iba yung pag-shoot dito for GMA and Viva Films. Sa amin, dati, 'pag sinabing halikan, halikan talaga yun. 'Pag sinabing love scene, love scene talaga yun. So, pinanood namin yung mga dati kong love scenes... "Wala akong problema sa love scenes. I'm a Christian pero work 'yon, e. Hindi naman siya malaswa tingnan." She differentiated her love scene with the one done by Anne for the movie. NO PROBLEM WITH RAYMART. Claudine was firm in saying that she and her husband Raymart Santiago did not have any misunderstanding recently. "There's no truth to it. Kami ni Raymart, we always agree to disagree. We always do that. We have counseling twice a month. I'm not saying na 'yon ang nagpapa-stay sa amin, ang pastor namin, pero bago kami magkaroon ng problema na malaki, inaasikaso na namin. Whether sa bahay lang 'yon or it's about work or about raising the kids, hinaharap namin talaga." The couple make an effort to coordinate their work schedules so that they can spend time with each other even though they are both busy with their careers. Raymart is part of the Kapuso show Pilyang Kerubin while the actress stars in her own anthology show titled Claudine. CAN WORK WITH ANYBODY, INCLUDING MARK ANTHONY. The actress said that her anthology show on GMA-7 will still be airing on television for some time. "Actually, it will still run until September or October. Nahihirapan na rin ako kasi mahirap pumondo. Ang hirap na every week, iba-ibang character. Parang nauubusan ka... 'Paano ba iaarte 'yan?' Medyo nangangapa ako so grabe ang pressure," she said. Is she open to working again with Mark Anthony Fernandez? Kumbaga, wala pang nagsasabi sa akin from production." Was Mark Anthony the reason why Raymart reportedly got jealous in the past? "'Pag kunyari may love scene ako, yung details about the love scene, hindi [niya tinatanong]. If I want to go somewhere, 'pag kailangan kong mag-relax, tinatanong lang niya saan ka pupunta at 'yon lang." Is she open to doing a teleserye? - Jocelyn Dimaculangan, PEP
