Six Ang Dating Daan members rescued after boat capsizes in Masbate

Six passengers of a motor banca that capsized after one of them accidentally caused it to sink were rescued by Coast Guard personnel Sunday. The motor banca RJ sank some 300 yards off Colorado Point off Masbate after a passenger accidentally kicked the paddle that bore a hole into the vessel, the Philippine Coast Guard said on Monday. The six were identified as Marlon Igana, Ruel Taytayan, Roland Mendoza, Epec Sepana, Edella Jumadiao, and Diana Grace Brillante, all members of the religious group, Ang Dating Daan, the Coast Guard said in its website on Monday night, citing belated reports from its Aroroy detachment. Their vessel capsized enroute to Aroroy port after leaving Barangay Talib in Aroroy, Masbate. The passengers, who came from a religious meeting, were in good physical condition when they were rescued, the Coast Guard said. The vessel, powered with a 10-horsepower engine and owned by Agustin Villar, capsized at about 6 a.m. Sunday. - RJAB Jr., GMANews.TV
