Noynoy backs Binay request for official home, office
President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III on Wednesday said he will support Vice President Jejomar Binay's request for an official residence and office. "If he believes there is such a need, I'll support that move," Aquino said in his first press conference in Malacanang. The president said Binay's request was reasonable, as the Office of the Vice President has no official office and residence. He said Binay had talked to him before the inauguration about this problem and about the small budget for the OVP. On Monday, Binay's camp said they are eyeing the Coconut Palace as Binay's possible office and home. âWe will determine its suitability as residence when its renovation would have been completed in about four months time," Binayâs spokesman JV Bautista said earlier in a text message to GMANews.TV. Aquino is staying at his Times Street home while waiting for the renovations to Bahay Pangarap to be completed. Bahay Pangarap, the Presidentâs choice for official residence, is a resthouse inside the Presidential Security Group headquarters just across Pasig River facing the Malacañang Palace.âJam L.
