Kidnapped wife of Japanese man rescued in Bulacan

A Filipino wife of a Japanese national abducted two days ago in Bulacan has been rescued by the police after they raided the kidnappers’ hideout in Pulilan town, a belated report said Wednesday. Kidnap victim Susana Ishihara, 41, was rescued by police on Tuesday midnight while three of her alleged abductors were arrested during follow-up operations in a house in Barangay Paltao in Pulilan, Bulacan, a police report sent to the media on Wednesday said. Ishihara was abducted near the Sta. Rita Exit of the North Luzon Expressway last Monday after the driver of the vehicle she was riding, identified as Jonathan Mateo, allegedly connived with the kidnappers in her abduction. Mateo reportedly fetched Ishihara from Manila last Monday, and alighted from the vehicle while at the Sta. Rita Exit to allow two of the alleged kidnappers — later identified as Evangeline Nissisawa and Ronald Moscoso — to board the car and bring the victim to the hideout. Bulacan police later arrested Mateo after reports of the kidnapping came out. Through the information he provided, they conducted follow-up operations which led to Ishihara’s rescue and the alleged abductors’ arrest. Perseus Fajardo, owner of the house in Pulilan which was used as hideout, was also arrested for being an alleged accessory to the crime. A 9-mm. pistol and money amounting to P50,000 were also recovered from the crime scene, police said. The suspects are currently undergoing inquest procedures at the Bulacan Prosecutor’s Office, according to the police. - ACC, RJAB Jr./JV/MDM, GMANews.TV
