Report: 1 hurt as banca with TV crews capsizes off Bataan

A television news cameraman was reported injured after a banca carrying two groups of television news crews capsized off Bataan province shortly before noon Saturday. Bombo Radyo reported the crews were returning to the mainland at 11 a.m. after taking video footage of a ship that ran aground, when the incident occurred. The report did not indicate what caused the mishap. But it quoted GMA News’ Emil Sumangil as saying the group took footage of the tanker M/T George, one of the vessels that ran aground in the wake of tropical cyclone "Basyang" (Conson). It added that Sumangil's cameraman Willy Caay sustained injuries. Also aboard the motorized banca was a three-member crew of ABS-CBN, including reporter Nico Baua. The other two passengers aboard the banca were a Coast Guard personnel and the boat operator. — LBG, GMANews.TV
