Iligan mayor to cops: Solve robbery problem in 3 months

ILIGAN City – This city's mayor has ordered the police to solve crimes, especially the robbery problem in the locality, in three months. Mayor Laurence Cruz made the order after he approved the P4 million funding for the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO). This was confirmed by PS/Supt Bernardo Reamon, Jr, acting City Police Director. “I was informed personally by Mayor Cruz and [he] vowed to support the police programs," Reamon said. The police chief is hoping the city government will purchase the equipment needed in their campaign against criminality, particularly robbery. “With the funding given to the PNP for heir additional communications equipment, I am hoping that they will maintain the peace and order of the city", mayor Cruz said. Meanwhile, in nearby Marawi City, civil society group led by Lacs Dalidig held a seminar and forum Friday to find ways to solve the series of killings in the city. Lt. Dennis Yasay, Civil Military Officer of the 51st Infantry Battalion based in Malabang, said that with the forum they hope to find solution to the deteriorating peace and order in the city. — Ric Clet/LBG, GMANews.TV
