1 killed after bus slams into oil tanker in Bataan


One person was killed Saturday while four others were hurt after a Manila-bound bus slammed into a petroleum tanker in Bataan province, a GMA News report said. Passenger Norberto Apolinar died on the spot after the Bataan Transit Bus he was riding figured in an accident along Roman Highway in Hermosa town in Bataan, GMA News stringer Rommel Ramos reported on “24 Oras." Initial police investigation revealed that the bus overtook other vehicles, causing it to collide with a petroleum tanker cruising the opposite lane, Ramos reported.


Bus driver Reynaldo Aguilar refused to give further information on the accident, but charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide are being readied by the local police against him. Four other passengers who obtained injuries due to the collision were brought to the Bataan General Hospital for treatment, according to the report.
