Pia and Vic: Breakup, no; misunderstanding, yes

While admitting that her relationship with actor-TV host Vic Sotto is going through “a rough patch," TV host Pia Guanio on Sunday said they are still “good" and are fixing whatever “minor problem" they are having. “You have nothing really to worry about because me and Vic are very OK. There’s nothing wrong with us. We’re good," Pia said in an exclusive and emotional interview in Showbiz Central, which she co-hosts. “Just like any other relationship, there are ups and downs. You go through rough patches. We are going through a rough patch," she added. Vic confirmed this in a phone patch interview following Pia’s. “Like what Pia said, there will be differences. (But) It’s not something that we can’t fix. I don’t know how news that we’re no longer together started," he said in Filipino. Both Vic and Pia, however, declined to give details about their problem. Vic described what they are having as “slight misunderstanding." “It was just a slight misunderstanding wrongly interpreted by other people until it was blown out of proportion," he said, adding that he and Pia are now going through a period of reconciliation.

The two broke their silence following weeks of rumors that their five-year relationship has ended, and that Brazilian model Daiana Menezes is somewhat involved. Pia said she chose to remain silent as they are still trying to fix their problem. She said she doesn’t want others dragged into the issue. “I wanted us to fix it first. We’re in the process of doing that. Like in a street or a building, we are under construction right now," she said. “This is not something that you just throw away in one go. It’s hard enough as it is, the two of us, without ten gazillion people giving their opinions, making up stories, getting involved," she added. Vic, for his part, said they are keeping to themselves what they are going through and how they intend to solve it. “Whatever misunderstanding we have, whatever decision we will make, that will be up to us. We’re good. We’re having a nice time. Nothing to worry about," he said. - KBK, GMANews.TV
