Warning out on deadly ‘milkshake’ drug in Central Visayas

Authorities are warning the public against a deadly drug concoction with a seemingly innocent name– “milkshake," which is allegedly being sold in Central Visayas. Radio dzXL reported the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is on the lookout for “milkshake," a deadly cocktail drug made from painkillers and methamphetamine. PDEA-7 spokesman Jessie Tabanao said nubain and methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) are the most common ingredients used in making “milkshake." The item is sold mainly in Kamagayan village, one of the most “drug-prone" areas in Cebu City, the report alleged. The PDEA said the drug’s effect can last for as long as four days. This has been a come-on for buyers of the drug, who get a shorter high from shabu and nubain. –VVP, GMANews.TV
