Fire hits residential area in QC, snarls traffic on North Avenue

Fire of undetermined origin razed a squatters' colony along North Avenue in Quezon City shortly after noon Tuesday, snarling traffic in the area. A report by radio dzBB's Rowena Salvacion said the fire razed several houses made of light materials, prompting authorities to close down a part of North Avenue. Quezon City fire marshal Chief Inspector Oscar Villegas said the fire had reached Task Force Alpha as of 1:30 p.m. Traffic at the nearby Department of Agriculture, Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Nature Center was snarled.
