Facebook down for as yet unknown reasons


For as yet unknown reasons, Facebook is experiencing technical difficulties and has been intermittently inaccessible for users around the world for several hours. According to crowd-sourced monitoring service DownRightNow, as of 11 a.m. on July 22 in the Philippines, Facebook has been experiencing "Likely Service Disruption" intermittently for at least the past six hours.

There is no word yet as to the extent, scope, and nature of Facebook's accessibility problems. This news item will be updated as soon as more information becomes available. DownRightNow explains: "The graph displays status activity for the selected service over the past 24 hours... The color of the area above the blue line also indicates service status. If the area above the line is green, the service status is 'Up.' When there is a service issue, a yellow or red color is visible to indicate the likelihood of a service disruption."
