PAGASA: Flash floods, landslides threaten Palawan, WVisayas

Flash floods and landslides loom over Palawan and Western Visayas due to rains from the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ), state weather forecasters said Tuesday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the ITCZ will also bring rains to parts of the country. "The entire archipelago will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms becoming widespread rains over Palawan and Western Visayas which may trigger landslides and flashfloods," PAGASA said in its 5 a.m. bulletin. It added light to moderate winds blowing from the Southeast will prevail throughout the entire archipelago and the coastal waters will be slight to moderate except during thunderstorms. — LBG, GMANews.TV
