Report: 2 pupils killed, 5 hurt as Lanao school wall collapses

At least two pupils were killed while five others were injured as a wall of an old school building collapsed Wednesday afternoon in Lanao del Norte province. Radio dzBB reported early Thursday the incident occurred at Sapad Central School in Sapad town at about 2 p.m. Wednesday. Those reported killed were a Grade-VI pupil and a Grade-IV pupil. Five others were rushed to the provincial hospital. Sketchy initial reports indicated the victims were taking a rest near the old school building when a downpour drenched the wall causing it to collapse. A separate report on dzXL radio quoted Marisa Magbaril, a mother of one of the school's students, as saying the building was not being used because it is already old.
