2-seater plane crashes in Baguio City; pilots unhurt

A two-seater plane crashed at the Loakan Airport in Baguio City Thursday morning but the two pilots on board emerged unscathed. Captain Benhur Gomez, owner of the Cessna plane that crashed, said in a radio dzBB interview, the two people aboard the plane were "licensed pilots going into commercial pilot training." Gomez said the plane that crashed was one of the three aircrafts that were flown by student pilots for their commercial flight training. "May three planes from Baguio. Iyong isa nga na-aksidente (There were three planes from Baguio and one of it encountered an accident)," he said. He assured the public that the two pilots were not harmed in the incident, which he said was common during training. "Sometimes, tumatalbog ang eroplano (Sometimes a plane 'bounces.') That's part of training," he said. Gomez said Loakan airport operations remained "normal" despite the incident. Gomez said their chief pilot and a mechanic have already rushed to the area to check on the flight students. – VVP, GMANews.TV
