Report: Fire razes 300 houses in Malabon City

At least 300 houses were destroyed in a fire that hit a residential area in Malabon City shortly before midnight Friday. Radio dzBB reported the fire started at 11:20 p.m. and reached Task Force Charlie before firefighters placed it under control at 4 a.m. Saturday. While there was no initial report of casualties, firefighters said they had a hard time getting to the scene in Catmon village. Malabon fire marshal Chief Inspector Rodrigo Reyes said they could not get to the site immediately because many of the roads were under repair.
