Fire breaks out at Makati Medical Center
A fire of as-yet undetermined origin broke out at the Makati Medical Center (MMC) on Saturday afternoon, local fire officials said. Senior Fire Officer (SFO) 2 Librado Villanueva, radio operator at the Makati City Central Fire Department, told GMANews.TV that the blaze happened at the ground floor of the hospital's new building at around 1:50 pm. Villanueva said the blaze started at the cold storage room on the building's ground floor. He said chemicals are being stored in the room. The fire officer said that the fire was "not big" and firefighters declared a fire out at 2:30 pm. As of 3pm, arson investigators are still at the scene of the fire to assess damage to the building, even as the cause of the fire has yet to be determined. - TJD, GMANews.TV
