28 Pinoys held for residence law violations in Saudi Arabia

Twenty-eight Filipino workers have been arrested in Saudi Arabia allegedly for violating the Kingdom's residence and labor regulations, an online news site reported Tuesday. A report on Arab News said officials from the Passport Department in Riyadh arrested the workers in Al-Rabwah and Umm Sulaim districts of the city. The report said the violations include running away from sponsors, working for people who are not their sponsors and using forged documents. Director of the Passport Department in Riyadh Brig. Abdul Rahman Al-Tuwairqi warned people against hiring domestic workers illegally due to security and health risks. He urged members of the public to inform the authorities if they see anyone who has violated the Kingdom’s regulations. — RSJ, GMANews.TV
