Electricity restored in tornado-hit Bukidnon town

After a 24-hour brownout, electricity has been restored in a Bukidnon town hit by a tornado earlier this week. Radio dzXL reported on Wednesday that the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has restored power in Maramag town in Bukidnon which was hit by a tornado on Monday. NGCP corporate information officer Beth Ladaga said a tornado hit the area following a heavy downpour. The tornado damaged parts of the Kibawe-Maramag-Aglayan 69-kilovolt line, causing a brownout that lasted almost 24 hours. The tornado also damaged some 100 houses in the area, the dzXL report said. The NGCP is assessing its facilities to check for other damages. – VVP, GMANews.TV
