Coast Guard: 6 fishermen rescued off Palawan

At least six fishermen were rescued off Bantag Island in Palawan province after their vessel developed engine trouble Thursday. On Friday, the Philippine Coast Guard said the fishermen's banca "Kevin" developed engine trouble early Thursday and drifted toward Bantag Island in Coron, Palawan. A search-and-rescue team went to the site and towed the distressed banca to Turda village in Coron. Rescued were Rone Boy Godines 40, owner and operator; Kimuel Gonines 17; Angelo Cadasule 29; Richard Cañete 17; Lorenz Valiente, 29; and Lino Blusa.
