Erap rushed to hospital due to nosebleed

Former President Joseph Estrada was rushed to a hospital Sunday afternoon due to "profuse nose-bleeding," a GMA Flash Report said. The report quoted Estrada's son, Senate President Pro-Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, as saying that the former leader was brought to Cardinal Santos Medical Center in Greenhills, San Juan for a series of examination. The report said the elder Estrada left the medical facility at about 8 p.m. and is now in good condition. Estrada, a former actor, was ousted from Malacañang by a military-backed revolt in 2001 over accusations of corruption. He was found guilty of plunder in September 2007 and was sentenced to life imprisonment. He was pardoned by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo a month later. Estrada sought to regain the presidency in the May 10 elections but placed only second to Benigno Aquino III. Before he was elected president, he served as mayor of San Juan city for many years, a senator, and vice president. - KBK, GMANews.TV
