Fire hits UP Diliman admin building

A fire of undetermined origin razed a portion of the University of the Philippines' administration building in Diliman, Quezon City Sunday night. Radio dzBB reported on Monday that while no one was reported injured in the fire, some P100,000 worth of property was destroyed. The report said the fire razed a portion of the office of the Human Resources Department of the state university's Quezon Hall. Fire Officer 3 Jessie Gallion said the fire started at about 9:00 p.m. and reached the second alarm before firefighters put it out at 9:20 p.m. As of Monday morning, radio dzBB’s Roland Bola reported Quezon Hall still had no electricity due to the Sunday night fire. However, classes at UP were not affected as there are no classrooms in Quezon Hall. –VVP, GMANews.TV
