On Wednesday last week, 10 were reported hurt as residents clashed with members of the demolition team. The following day, six explosions were heard in the area as the wrecking team prepared to resume their work. On Friday, residents occupied roads around the area to block the demolition team from returning to the site. But, last weekend, the residents got a two-day reprieve after they promised to voluntarily dismantle their houses. A Quezon City court had ordered the demolition of the houses, but many of the residents said they had been staying there since the 1950s. — LBG, GMANews.TV
