No passport processing on August 21

There will be no processing of passport applications on August 21, Saturday, which was recently declared a non-working holiday, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). The DFA's Office of Consular Affairs thus said that passport applicants with a scheduled appointment on Saturday will instead be accommodated for processing on August 23, Monday, according to a release posted on the DFA website. "Applicants with appointments scheduled for August 21 but are unable to come on August 23 will still be accommodated from August 24 to 27, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.," the release added. President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III declared as a non-working holiday August 21 — which marks the actual date of the death anniversary of his father, former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr. — instead of moving it to the nearest Monday based on the "holiday economics" policy decreed by the previous administration.
