Fire razes public market, 6 houses in Bulacan

A fire, believed to be caused by a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank that exploded, razed a public market and at least six houses in Hagonoy town in Bulacan province Wednesday night. Radio dzBB reported Thursday the fire started at 7:30 p.m. and reached the fourth alarm before firefighters put it out at 10 p.m. Bulacan fire marshal Superintendent Absalom Zipagan said no one was initially reported hurt in the incident. Zipagan said the fire spread to at least six houses near the market. A separate report on GMA News' late night news program Saksi said a firewall prevented the fire from spreading further.
