Tugboat captain loses consciousness en route to Bataan

Coast Guard teams rescued a tugboat captain who fell unconscious while skippering his vessel to Bataan province last weekend. The Philippine Coast Guard said Monday Renold Mallorca, captain of tugboat MT Baliwag, fell unconscious while his vessel was heading for Lamao anchorage in Limay town. It said the incident occurred while the ship was heading for Lamao from Manila around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. A team from the Coast Guard-Bataan station rushed to the Lamao anchorage area onboard a motorboat, and transferred Mallorca to a motorboat. The team went back to Lamao port and transferred Mallorca to an ambulance. Mallorca was brought to the Saint Joseph Hospital in Balanga City for treatment. Investigation showed Mallorca vomited and fainted due to gastroenteritis, but his condition stabilized as of Monday. –VVP, GMANews.TV
