Jackie Chan explained that he had just arrived in Hong Kong from South Korea and was shocked to learn of the tragic hostage crisis at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila last August 23 that left eight tourists from Hong Kong dead. "this kind of things always happen around the world. It happen to hk's people, the whole hk is talking about it. Its really sad," the movie star said at around 11:40am (Philippine Time) on August 25, 2010. "If they killed the guy sooner, they will say why not negotiate first? If they negotiate first, they ask why not kill the guy sooner? So sad," he added.
